Description

This course will take the home health coder through scenarios and knowledge updates for all of the chapters related to home health ICD-10-CM coding. The course will also include a brief overview of PDGM and how the HIPPS code is obtained to better understand payment methodology in home health.

Objectives

  1. Describe ICD-10-CM coding changes taking effect October 1st, 2023.
  2. Cite examples of ICD-10 diagnosis codes that fall into the primary clinical grouping that best reflects the agency focus of care for each 30-day benefit period.
  3. Identify key ICD-10 Coding strategies to capture low/high comorbidity adjustments to garner proper reimbursement.
  4. Identify challenging aspects of intermediate coding scenarios and steps to correctly identify and sequence these properly.
