About the Event
The event is free but registration is required.
Home care leaders from across the state will gather in Annapolis on March 12th to advocate for all home care patients and agencies in Maryland. Your participation in this event is a critical part in our efforts to show elected officials the importance of protecting home care services for our aging population.
During the 2019 legislative session, there are many new legislators who must be educated on homecare and the role it plays in our state. We need the entire homecare industry to assist in this effort.
To encourage your participation, MNCHA is making this a FREE EVENT.
All are welcome! Whether you are an owner, manager, visiting staff person or even a patient!
Home Health, Private Duty Home Care and Durable Medical Equipment providers are urged to participate. Please make appointments with Delegates and Senators in the district where you live and work. We will provide talking points on the most important issues facing home care this session.
The day will begin with a breakfast and legislative briefing to prepare for your meetings.
Please find below, step-by-step instructions to make your appointments with legislators and more information on becoming a sponsor of the event.
Parking is available in the Gott's Annapolis Parking Garage - 25 Northwest Street, Annapolis, MD 2140.
Please note that everyone entering the Lowe House Office Building must show proper ID and pass through a metal detector.

2. Make Your Calls
Making calls to set up your appointments is easy. Here is a sample script you can use:
“Hi, my name is (insert name). The Maryland-National Capital Homecare Association is having our annual Legislative Day on March 12th. A large part of the day is talking with legislators about all the benefits of home care and some of the priorities for employees and patients in the upcoming legislative session. Is there a time between 9:30 am and 2:00 pm on March 12th that I can discuss this with the legislator?”
Don’t forget to get the office/room number of where your meeting will occur.
4. Record Your Appointment
Once registered and paid, you will receive an email, prompting you to record your legislative appointment through the MNCHA website.
