Home Care Advocacy Day in Annapolis
** Cancelled Due to Inclement Weather
About the Event
Home care leaders from across the state will gather in Annapolis on February 16th to advocate for all home care patients and businesses in Maryland. Your participation in this event is critical to show our elected officials the importance of protecting home care services for our aging population.
This ½ day breakfast event will be held in the House of Delegates Office Building, with invitations to legislators. During this event we will engage, inform and educate our elected officials directly, and you will be given all of the information, materials, and support you need for the event.
You should attend this event if you are an owner, manager, or visiting staff person in the areas of home health, private duty, or durable medical equipment. All participants will be briefed on the key issues in the days leading up to the event to review key talking points.
Registration is required for this event. Breakfast is included.
Please note this change: Individuals will be responsible for making appointments with key legislators. Once you have registered through the MNCHA website, a packet of information will be sent to you via email. If an appointment is set, you will be accompanied by a group of trained advocates for the appointment. Instructional steps on how to make an appointment with a legislator are to come.
ACTIONS TO TAKE PRIOR TO LEGISLATIVE DAY

SCHEDULE A MEETING with the legislators serving your district. Please note that legislators attend the General Session daily at 10:00 AM, which should conclude by 10:30. REVIEW the policy overview information and bill chart that has or will be sent to you prior to the event. This information is just an overview. When you speak with legislators, please personalize it or add to it to reflect your community.
- If you do not have contact information for your legislators, you can enter your address by clicking “Voice My Concern” on the Maryland General Assembly website at www.mgaleg.maryland.gov.
- By clicking on the legislator’s name, it will provide you with the legislator’s phone number, email and current committee assignment.
Cancellation Policy Fees will be refunded, or invoices will be adjusted, only if written notice of cancellation is received two weeks prior to the workshop. In the event of cancellation, MNCHA will retain or charge $20 of the initial registration fee per registrant to cover administrative overhead. Once written cancellation is received, a staff member will review for approval. If your cancellation is approved, we will email back a signed and dated copy of the cancellation that your agency should retain on file in case of questions.
